Today we recognize “Imagine A Day Without Water”, an initiative with Heartland Conservation Alliance in partnership with KC Water. Right here in KC the Blue River flows 42 miles through Missouri and Kansas; leading into the Missouri River the city’s source of drinking water. At Blue you can always find people kayaking, biking, etc, through these stunning waters! “Imagine a Day Without Water” invites everyone to restore, protect, and engage with the Blue River. A healthy Blue River means a healthier Kansas City. 🛶💧🚴‍♂️

Today my colleagues and I recognized October as Breast Cancer Awareness month, with a reminder to not let a pandemic stop you from taking the time to get your annual Mammogram and other health screenings!

We honored 2 survivors that are agents for change in the fight against breast cancer. Cathy Jolly for her efforts to fund research to find a cure through the Annual Breast Cancer Research Foundation City Council Fundraiser for the past 14 years. Consuelo Ross for her advocacy through Surviving the Odds, Inc., for equitable screenings, follow-up, and continuum of care for black and brown women regardless of socio-economic status.
